  • Haven’t you been “towed” not to park here?

If you own a car chances are you have used or at least wished you could use a road service. Hey, who has time to go to the gas station? We are watching our blinking fuel light and reassuring ourselves that we are “good” for at least 5 more miles or so. And then…oh, men! That’s where AAA, Amoco or your own towing/ road service coverage comes very handy.

Insurance companies become more and more competitive, which means they try to offer better deals and broader coverage for their clients. Their towing/road service has improved over the years. Coverage does not cost much (about $3 a month) and, depending on the company, offers a lot of nice features:

  • 24 hours a day mechanical first aid, battery service, tire change, towing, gas, water and oil delivery, and lockout service
  • Your insurance company will be billed directly for the service up to the policy limit. If the charge exceeds this limit, the insured is responsible for the difference
  • If you wish, you can arrange your own towing or roadside assistance service, pay them and submit a receipt for reimbursement
  • A special toll free number will be provided to you. When service is required, simply give the dispatcher your policy number.
  • Be smart and savvy, compare the coverage and price your insurance company offers to the services of an automobile club.
