Fire/Hazard Insurance

Hazard Insurance is another term for home insurance. Fire is one of the perils (causes of loss) home insurance policy covers against of and therefore, also known as Fire Insurance.

If you own a home and it is financed, bank requires you to have Fire/Hazard Insurance. If you fail to purchase Fire Insurance, the bank that finances your house may obtain that coverage for you and charge you for it. Most of the time it's a lot more expensive.
